Will Scharen

Will Scharen, coincidentally the host and creator of The Will Scharen Show, is a math teacher by day & a writer/comedian by night. While pursuing his lifelong dream of being a performer on Saturday Night Live, Will studied improv in the early-to-mid 2000’s at the famed Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre and The People’s Improv Theatre, both in New York City.

While studying and performing the art of long form improvisation, he also took writing classes at The PIT NYC with Emmy Award winning writers Ali Farahnakian (SNL, Second City) & Joe Toplyn (David Letterman, Jay Leno, Monk) with comedy sketch writing classes for Saturday Night Live and late night variety shows.

He was all set to submit his packets to SNL in hopes of becoming a writer and possibly a performer when he met who is now his wife of over 12 years. (They’ve been married for more than 12 years, SHE isn’t 12 years old).

While he never stopped writing, Will took a break from improv and studied the art of standup comedy at the famous Governors Comedy Club in Long Island under John Trueson.

Combined with improv & standup, Will has performed all over at some of the most famous clubs in NYC & Long Island including Governors, Caroline’s, Broadway Comedy Club, Dangerfield’s, NY Comedy Club, UCB-East, The PIT NYC, as well as Sirius XM.

The Will Scharen Show (TWSS) has tones of comedy that heavily influenced Will since he was younger; growing up watching SNL, MTV 1/2 Hour Comedy Hour, VH1’s Standup Spotlight in his early years, as well as his post-College years like Tough Crowd w/ Colin Quinn (or as he calls it – the rebirth of comedy for him).

TWSS is a weekly show on every Friday night from 6-8pm with rotating guest co-hosts who are friends of Will’s in comedy as well as surprise special guests including some of the nation’s biggest headliners.

Will’s natural enemy is yogurt & his only weakness is pizza & his love for the NY Islanders.
